（亚庇23日讯）沙巴能源理事会通过一共700兆瓦总发电量的主要发展项目，旨在恢复沙巴的电缆系统。

首长拿督哈芝芝表示，该理事会批准的主要发电项目，包括水力发电及天然气发电厂，目的是确保本州现今及未来都有可靠稳定的电供。

他说，沙巴能源理事会会议也听取沙巴能源委员会针对重要发电项目进展的报告。

沙巴能源理事会的首次会议是在去年6月。

“这包括推行未来能源来源计划，包括透过沙巴能源委员会所草拟的沙巴水力发展大蓝图以及海洋热能转换厂等前卫的观念的计划。”

首长是主持了第二次的沙巴能源委员会会议后，如此表示。

首长表示，这些计划都配合沙巴能源路线图及2040大蓝图，目的是要推进沙巴的发展，让州民得益。

沙巴能源理事会是在联邦政府将监管沙巴能源的权力移交给州政府后成立，取代沙巴电供及收费率计划及实行委员会。

Sabah Energy Council (MTS) approves 700 MW capacity generation projects

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Energy Council (MTS) in its second meeting approved several critical projects for the development of a total generation capacity of 700 Megawatts aimed at restoring the State’s Grid System.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said that among the main projects are the hydroelectric project and the natural gas power plant to ensure a reliable supply of electricity in the State for current and future use.

He said that the MTS meeting also heard feedback from the Energy Commission of Sabah (ECoS) regarding the progress of other important generation projects since the first MTS meeting last June.

“This includes decisions on the implementation of future energy source projects, namely the potential and methods of widespread hydroelectric development in Sabah through the Sabah Hydro Development Masterplan study currently being carried out by ECoS, as well as the development of the Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) plant through the concept of the Pioneer Project,” he said after chairing the second MTS Meeting at Menara Kinabalu here today.

Hajiji hopes that all efforts undertaken will bring the best benefits in realising the achievement of energy in Sabah that is reliable, affordable, and sustainable.

He said these efforts are in line with the Sabah Energy Roadmap and Masterplan 2040 (SE-RAMP 2040) for the advancement of Sabah and to benefit the people of the State.

MTS was established following the transfer of energy regulatory powers from the Federal Government to Sabah and to replace the Sabah Electricity Supply and Tariff Planning and Implementation Committee (JPPPET).
